We did miss Korky Neufeld, and were left without his vision.
BC, we cannot afford another four years of careless government spending and initiatives we do not align with.
BC, the time for change is now!
Abbotsford, BC – James Davison, the independent candidate for Abbotsford West, has laid out a comprehensive plan for change, calling for a return to conservative values and practical local solutions. Speaking to supporters, Davison urged the community to seize the opportunity to chart a new course for Abbotsford and British Columbia.
“We face a pivotal moment—a once-in-every-four-year opportunity to build strong, decisive leadership in our province. The time for change is now, and together we can make it happen!” Davison declared in his opening remarks.
He emphasized that under the NDP, British Columbia’s deficit has tripled in just seven years, resulting in inflation and unaffordable living conditions. "We have nothing to show for it," Davison said. "This is unacceptable, and Abbotsford deserves better."
A Vision to Lower Costs and Create Jobs
Davison’s platform centers on lowering the costs of everyday essentials, including gasoline, food, and housing. His solution? Investing in local industries by constructing agricultural processing plants, lumber mills, and gasoline refineries within British Columbia. These developments, he believes, will create hundreds of well-paying jobs and significantly reduce the costs of goods and services.
“When British Columbians save on essentials, they can invest in local businesses and services, fueling a positive economic cycle where everyone benefits. This strategy will drive economic growth and stabilize prices,” Davison explained.
He also outlined a plan to streamline housing development by cutting red tape and fast-tracking permit approvals. "Faster approvals will reduce construction timelines and costs, making homeownership more attainable for families," he added.
Restoring Education to Its Core
Davison stressed the need to reform Abbotsford's education system by refocusing on core subjects such as literacy, mathematics, science, and economics. He vowed to eliminate political and ideological influences from classrooms, bringing back academic excellence and safeguarding childhood innocence.
“Our classrooms have become battlegrounds for political agendas. We need to restore the focus on education that prepares students for the real world,” he asserted.
Davison's plan includes increased transparency in the curriculum so that parents are fully informed, and he promised to prioritize economic education to equip students with financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills.
Supporting Abbotsford’s Agricultural Backbone
Agriculture remains a cornerstone of Abbotsford’s economy, and Davison's platform aims to bolster this critical sector. By providing direct financial aid, tax incentives, and investments in farming infrastructure, he aims to modernize the industry and ensure that Abbotsford remains a leader in food security.
“Agriculture is the backbone of our community, and we will make sure that our farmers have the tools they need to thrive,” Davison promised.
Healthcare: Putting Patients First
Healthcare reform is also a key pillar of Davison’s platform. He called for an end to political influence in healthcare decisions, advocating for a patient-first approach that focuses on equitable access and reduced wait times.
“Medical decisions should be driven by science, ethics, and patient welfare—not politics or corporate interests,” he stated.
Addiction Recovery: Moving Away from 'Safe Supply'
Davison was equally critical of the current government's "safe supply" approach to addiction, calling it a failure. He proposed a shift to comprehensive recovery programs that address the root causes of addiction and provide mental health support, job training, and vocational education.
“We need to offer real solutions that help individuals reintegrate into society and live fulfilling, independent lives,” he said, emphasizing a holistic approach to addiction recovery.
Bringing Accountability Back to Government
Davison also highlighted the need for greater government accountability. He pledged to bring decision-making power back to the local level, ensuring that Abbotsford residents have a direct say in how their community is governed. Regular town halls, fiscal discipline, and transparent spending are all part of his strategy to restore accountability.
“We must be fiscally responsible to secure Abbotsford’s economic future,” Davison said. "Unchecked spending has driven inflation, and it’s time to cut wasteful projects and reallocate funds to programs that benefit our community."
Launching a BC First Independent Alliance
In a bold move, Davison proposed the formation of a BC First Independent Alliance, which would seek party status with as few as three elected independent MLAs. This alliance would operate under strict rules to prevent corporate, union, or non-governmental organization donations, ensuring accountability to the people.
“This is our chance to build a government that truly puts Abbotsford first,” he concluded.
Join the Movement for Real Change
James Davison encouraged voters to get involved and support his campaign for a brighter future. "Together, we can make Abbotsford a leader in education, agriculture, healthcare, and economic prosperity," he said. "Vote for a government that prioritizes Abbotsford’s needs and is committed to delivering real results."

This new direction for Abbotsford promises a future built on accountability, responsibility, and hope.
Our community deserves leadership that listens, acts, and delivers real results. This vision is built upon five key areas: Education, Agriculture, Healthcare, Addiction Recovery, and Government Accountability. Together, we will implement conservative values and local solutions to address Abbotsford’s most pressing challenges and ensure a prosperous future for all.
1. Education: Reviving Core Values, Academic Excellence, and Economic
Preparedness
Abbotsford's future depends on how we educate our children today. We are committed to shifting the focus back to foundational subjects such as literacy, mathematics, science, economics, and the arts. These subjects provide the critical thinking skills necessary to navigate life’s challenges. In recent years, classrooms have become battlegrounds for political and social agendas, diverting attention from academic achievement. We will end this by ensuring a transparent curriculum, free from ideological influence, that serves the best interests of our children.
A central focus is protecting childhood innocence by eliminating inappropriate content from schools. Additionally, we recognize the importance of preparing students for life beyond the classroom. A renewed emphasis on economics will equip our students with practical financial skills, entrepreneurship, and an understanding of global markets. Through education, we will empower our children to manage personal finances, build wealth, and contribute to Abbotsford's economy.
Action Plan:
· Ensure curriculum transparency so parents can be fully informed.
· Remove ideological and political influences from classrooms.
· Prioritize economic education to teach students financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and market principles.
· Empower teachers to focus on essential academic skills and character-building.
2. Agriculture: Strengthening Abbotsford's Economic Core
Abbotsford’s agricultural sector is the backbone of our community and economy, and it requires real support—not just promises. We will provide farmers with direct financial aid, tax incentives, and reduce unnecessary regulations that hinder their ability to innovate and grow. Agriculture is essential for our local economy, and it also serves as a cornerstone of food security for the entire province.
Our approach will be to modernize farming practices through investment in technology and infrastructure, ensuring that Abbotsford remains a leading agricultural hub. We will ensure that farmers have a seat at the table in policymaking, giving them the ability to shape the future of their industry.
Action Plan:
· Provide direct financial aid and tax incentives to support farmers.
· Streamline regulations to eliminate unnecessary bureaucratic delays.
· Invest in advanced farming technologies and infrastructure for sustainable growth.
· Involve farmers in the decision-making process for agricultural policies.
3. Healthcare: Prioritizing Patients, Not Politics
Healthcare should be driven by what’s best for patients, not political agendas or corporate interests. We will restore the integrity of healthcare by removing external influences from medical decisions, ensuring that they are based on scientific principles and patient welfare.
Healthcare in Abbotsford should be equitable, efficient, and above all, focused on the well- being of its residents. We will improve access to healthcare services by eliminating administrative bottlenecks and reducing wait times. Decisions about medical treatments will be guided by science, ethics, and the needs of the community, not political ideologies.
Action Plan:
· Ensure that healthcare decisions prioritize patient welfare over politics or corporate lobbying.
· Improve access to healthcare by cutting administrative red tape and reducing wait times.
· Implement patient-first policies, guaranteeing equitable access to quality medical care.
· Establish oversight mechanisms to ensure decisions are driven by scientific evidence.
4. Ending the "Safe Supply": Focusing on True Recovery
The current approach to addiction through the concept of 'safe supply' has not delivered the desired outcomes. While well-intentioned, it has done little to address the root causes of addiction or provide individuals with a path toward recovery. Our focus will shift toward real solutions that emphasize rehabilitation and reintegration into society. We propose a holistic recovery model that includes access to mental health support, vocational training, and education. By treating the person rather than managing symptoms, we can break the cycle of addiction and enable individuals to lead fulfilling, independent
lives.
Action Plan:
· Move away from the 'safe supply' approach to addiction management.
· Develop comprehensive rehabilitation programs that address mental health, education, and job training.
· Provide opportunities for individuals to reintegrate into the workforce and society.
· Ensure addiction recovery centers are well-funded and staffed with professionals
· dedicated to long-term recovery.
5. Government Accountability: Fiscal Responsibility for Abbotsford's
Future
For too long, Abbotsford has been neglected by provincial decision-makers, resulting in unchecked spending, rising inflation, and a lack of fiscal discipline. We will restore accountability by bringing decision-making back to the local level and ensuring Abbotsford residents have a voice in how their community is governed.
We are committed to holding regular town halls, maintaining open communication, and implementing strong fiscal policies. By controlling government spending and focusing on essential services, we will combat inflation and secure Abbotsford's economic future.
Action Plan:
· Restore decision-making power to the local community through regular town halls and open forums.
· Implement strict fiscal policies to control government spending and combat inflation.
· Increase transparency in government spending and ensure accountability.
· Foster strong communication between elected officials and Abbotsford residents to ensure policies reflect the community’s needs.
