The data and statistics we've seen over the past few years tell a clear story - one that goes against the narratives pushed by the mainstream media and government. It's not a conspiracy if the facts keep proving the official accounts wrong.
We've witnessed the devastating impacts of lockdowns, business closures, and divisive policies that have eroded our rights and freedoms. The actions taken in the name of public health have done far more harm than good, destroying livelihoods and communities.
As lawful, hardworking citizens, we deserve leaders who will uphold our constitutional rights and foster an environment for prosperity, not oppression. The healthcare system has been weaponized for political agendas, abandoning its ethical duty to "first, do no harm."
Legislation like Bill 36, passed without proper due process, further erodes our democratic principles. This must be repealed so we can restore integrity to our government and get our province back on track. The time has come to confront the facts head-on and take responsibility for the direction of our future.
According to the B.C. Coroners Service's 2023 data:
Instead of "watching people die by the thousands," Lapointe restated her calls for a meaningful continuum of care, including expanded harm reduction services like safer supply in addition to evidence-based accessible treatment and recovery programs.
The agriculture sector in our province is facing a critical crisis, as corporate lobbyists and investors seek to repurpose valuable agricultural reserve land for more lucrative industrial and residential developments. This short-sighted strategy is decimating our local food production, leading to skyrocketing grocery prices that make a balanced diet unaffordable for many residents.
Our province lags behind others in funding and support for farmers, who are forced to shoulder the burden of penalties without access to the same benefits afforded to foreign workers in other provinces, such as medical expense coverage. This untenable situation is pushing our farmers to the brink, jeopardizing the future of our local food supply.
The time for strategic action is now. We must prioritize the protection and optimization of our richest agricultural soils, exploring innovative solutions like greenhouses and cattle farming to maximize production on the limited 5% of land set aside for this purpose. Centralizing processing facilities within the Fraser Valley, along the strategic Hwy 1 corridor, would create much-needed jobs and reduce the costly and counterproductive practice of transporting goods out of province for processing, only to import them back at a premium.
The future of our agriculture sector, and the affordability of our food, hangs in the balance. Bold, forward-thinking strategies are needed to support our hardworking farmers and secure our local food security. Anything less is a disservice to the people of this province.
It's time to break the cycle of neglect and put the people first. For too long, this province has been treated like a personal playground for political parties, with little regard for the real needs of our citizens.
It's abundantly clear that the challenges we face have been overlooked from one administration to the next. The time for change is now. Together, we can chart a new course – one paved with inspiration, innovation, and a unwavering commitment to your success.
